User Affiliation displays the relationship between a User and the Organization. This particular setting in the Powow web app works as a filter in various search activities.
For example, a user needs to find a participant from the Participants menu to check his/her profile details, the number of meetings conducted, etc. The user doesn't remember the name of the person she is searching for but is familiar with the department and a project the participant is working on. It is not an easy task to quickly extract the right profile from a big number of participants in the Workgroup when she doesn’t remember the name! If the User lists the information she knows in the filter fields, she will quickly separate the list of potential people and identify who she is looking for!
To access User Affiliation, find your user name in the right-hand of the upper toolbar. Click on your name and choose Manage Profile from the dropdown. You will open a Profile Center with four tabs: Profile Details, User Affiliation, Voice ID, and Integrations.
|Read the article about the Manage Profile Details section to get more information about the first tab.|
Edit User Affiliation
- In the Manage Profile center, go to the User Affiliation tab as shown on the screenshot above
- Click the Edit on the upper-right side of the window. In a popup, you will see different sections. For each section, a dropdown with a list of values will appear. Chosen values will highlight to mark that they were added to your profile
- Click one more time to remove it from your profile.
Choose Programs that you participate in (if any).
Pick Projects that you are taking part in in your organization.
Your Department will associate you with all other users from the same department (you may only choose only one department).
Channels will also relate you to as many channels in your organization as you choose. Find where to manage associations here.
Once all the values are chosen, click Save to confirm changes or Cancel the action. You will see your changes in the User Affiliation window after saving.
